The 2012 GeoHab conference will be held 1 – 4 May on Orcas Island. This island is the largest of the San Juan Islands, lying in the Salish Sea (comprising the Strait of Georgia, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and Puget Sound) between the coast of the state of Washington, USA, and Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

The venue is the Rosario Resort and Spa, a century-old Arts and Crafts mansion on the ocean.
The closest international airports to Orcas Island are Seattle, Washington, and Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia.
